VENOUS ULCER..AYURVEDIC CURE..

A case of non healing venous ulcer ( medial distal end of right leg).
Again same question?...Ayurveda? Is it possible....and the answer- YES
Here we are discussing a case which is among one of many cases we come across.why I am writing is to spread the knowledge of scientific/comprehensive ayurvedic care which will give a better cost effective result with less side effects.
(Again as a research fellow, I would be specific with side effects.)
This is a patient from South part of kerala (identity not revealed). She is suffering from chronic non healing venous ulcer- medial distal end of right leg + dorsal surface of right foot. She was suffering from the same since last eight years.
The wound started as a small ulcer over medial distal end of leg, which then with course of time developed into a massive non healing ulcer. For everyone's interest she was under regular check up and medications of all kind from famous medical centres in South kerala.
All were having multiple concerns about her wound but nothing worked to heal the ulcer. She had spent lakhs of rupees untill this moment( her daughter says, she could have bought a plot and built a house with the money she had spend for treatments).
Here I am not hurting the feelings or knowledge of all the great doctors who have managed the case but they ( especially IMA) should understand the feelings of young ayurveda doctors who are trying to do their best to prove clinical and scientific evidence based treatments in ayurveda. IMA always insult ayurveda doctors as unscientific/non clinical/quacks.....and the description goes on......
But there are thousands of allopathic doctors who like ayurveda and support us...
This case was challenging for us because the lady had consulted with famous podiatric surgeons and she do have many family doctors.
During the course of her illness, major complication came after having done SCLEROTGERAPY for vericose veins.
After sclerotherapy the wound become so bad that she even can't walk.
Doctors always ask her for cleaning with normal saline + antibiotic dressing. They have consulted many microvascular surgeons for grafting but all said NO..
She was admitted for around 2 months at the same hospital were she had done SCLEROTHERAPY
Patient got some satisfactory results with one of the major podiatric surgeon in her place but the wound was not healed.some surgeons have the opinion of calcium deposits and had opted for removal therapies for 3-4 months which again haven't worked
Above was her breif medical history untill she came to us.Again Thanks to Google.... and her grand daughter...Her first consultation on17/02/2016

When we exposed the wound it was foul smelling and with dead tissue.she told us that she use to clean the wound daily with normal saline.
Diameter of the wound was high enough to say get admitted...
But to there personal inconvenience we advise her to take medicines for one month before getting admitted.
Cleaning was changed with our decoaction(Triphala kwath) and dressing with another ayurveda formulation. They were happy and left hospital with hope...
After one month they came back and we opened the dressing
Wound was showing healthy granulation and borders were clear. Patient was happy but pain persist during night/walking.we insisted for bed rest and advise same medications for one more month. After one month on 05/03/2016 and we open the dressing....

Ulcer almost healed with small area of ulceration remaining on medial distal end of leg. This time she was ready to get admitted at our hospital for 3 weeks  and during the course of Treatments she was on specialized external applications for raising the floor of the wound and getting back the normal colour of skin.slowly skin started showing pigmentation and the final portion remaining was healed.
At last....it took 2 months of medications and 25 days of hospitilization to heal the non healing ulcer which made her life painfull for last 8 yrs.

Osteomyelitis Effective ayurvedic management

As most of our readers know,we always present AYURVEDA as a clinically relevant medical system and today we are discussing an evidence based achievement which will emphasis the relevance of AYURVEDA as a choice of mainstream medicine other than labelling as an alternative system.

This is a case of  osteomyelitis, patient is male, soft ware employee with no other health issues other than chronic non healing ulcer over the medial aspect of left thigh with pus discharge since 3 years, he had an accident during his childhood and afterwards he start feeling stiffness and swelling of his thigh and had operated multiple times with symptomatic results for less than a month

Osteomyelitis is an infection in a bone which can reach bone through blood stream or spreading from nearby tissue.some times if an injury exposes the bone infections can begin in the bone.

This was once considered incurable... We too had the same opinion which we have to change after the  recovery of this patient......

Patient always complaints of stiffness of his thigh adjacent to the opening and near to the knee joint. From his words when stiffness increase ,within few weeks pus drainage starts and slowly stiffness releived, again not completely relived since last 10 years. Every time the wound get partially closed he start working and with few weeks stiffness comes back and then pus drainage..
This made his life hard and in his young age matters become worse.
When the patient first contacted us last August, wound was partially closed and without discharge, we advise him to contact when the wound is open.

He came to us on 23rd January 2016 and on our examination it was a sinus opening with crusted surrounding tissues and oedematous soft tissues. MRI shows focal cortical thickening with intramedullary focal collection in the lower femur bone with adjacent bony defect with sinus tract extending subcutaneously upto medial aspect of thigh.

We had a discussion and approached the patient with 50% chance of healing the sinus.patient was willing and we took the chance. Majority of our experts are having the opinion of doing ksharasutra therapy . We were sure that, If we manage to pierce the sinus deep enough and complete the threading procedure the sinus will heal. Again the question was how to trace the sinus until the bone and finish the procedure.

We planned the procedure for 25th of January and we managed to trace 25% of the tract. Main issue was thick medial compartment muscles and vessels. Finished partial threading by making an external opening over the skin. Since the sinus was deep we always had the confusion of drug deliverance .
Next day we had a sitting and we're having the opinion of plugging long ksharasutras deep into the open sinus. It was effective and pus drainage was achevied

Slowly the patient start feeling better and underwent 3 ksharasutra therapies.daily cleaning and dressing with triphala kashayam and internal ayurveda medicines specific for Vidradhi were on prescription.

For everyone's interest, no antibiotics we're prescribed, patient was without fever and was strictly under ayurveda medicines. Wound was open and pus drainage was effective.

At the time of discharge after 25 days, patient was happy with remaining 25% of wound closure still remaining,we advise him with medicines for one month and regular dressing with triphala kashayam.
He came back for review on 26/03/2016 and the results were wonderful.
Complete closure of sinus which he had achieved for the first time since last 3 years. It's the first time patient is without muscle stiffness even on deep palpation and walking.

At that moment we were PROUD AYURVEDA DOCTORS.......

Detailed videos of procedure will be  available on  our youtube account.

26/03/2016( After ksharasutra thera

Disc prolapse questions and solutions

Today we are discussing some of the major concerns of patients who have degenerative disc disorders.
Major part of this include disc bulges and protrusions which will be manifested as irritating pains, numbness, loss of mobility and the symptoms goes on..
In this era everybody will be having some sort of medical knowledge..thanks to Google...
From our experience in treating these issues since last 15 years and critical analysis from our research wing, we would like to answer some common questions and ayurvedic solutions.

1. If surgery not opted, what happen to the nucleus pulposes of protruded disc lying within spinal cord? Does it disappear or remain in the canal.
Ans: Massive disc herniations usually reduce in volume and by 6 months size of the protruded material will be 1/3rd of original size.

2. Does disc herniations cause reccurent clinical symptoms?

Ans: If the patient shows improvement with therapies, normally 85-90% of disc herniations will have sustained improvement.

3. Is there a risk of nerve damage resulting from ayurvedic approach ?

Ans: if there is improvement after therapies, disc prolapses do not carry the risk of major nerve damage.

4. Is it safe to adopt AYURVEDA management other than surgery for cases of disc related complaints ?

Ans: if there is any early sign of clinical improvements with ayurveda treatments, its always advisable to opt out surgery.

Pain relief at home without internal medications

Its common we find ourselves in the same posture as in this picture.
This will make your job time equalent to jail time. There are many solutions for this condition. Here we are discussing easy and simple solutions for almost all type of strain/sprain associated with neck and upper limbs.its from our experience with knowledge from classics. As all people know heat application always releases muscle spasm but usage of medicated oil along with heat application and supportive regime will make you pain free. Choice of oil is an important factor determining pain relief. It's always better to go with an expert opinion prior to selection of oil. Head bath even with warm water during the time period of strain can make matter worse. This happen especially with ladies who have thick hair.We always advice head wash before 7pm so that your hair won't be wet prior to sleep.

Try this health Tip......and feel the results...

BACK PAIN...GOOD BYE...

There are many moments in our life which we think are simple. These simple things can make you feel better and will make you free from medicines .
We all use chairs for sitting in our daily life.Use of chairs starting form plastic to easy chairs. Do every one care his or her back while opting the chair.
This happens with office job mainly IT professionals and Bank employees, who used to sit more than 6 hrs at a time during there working hours.
If you can maintain a correct sitting posture which maintains normal cervical and lumbar curves and a straight spine with enough cushioning  of your back muscles and buttock without springs or rotation movements, you will feel much better and can prevent neck pains and back aches.
While working maintain an upright posture with your eyes facing your monitor in a straight line and always support your arms while typing.

Enjoy your work with pain free body........

Weight loss...it's easy 8kg in 10 days

You would really surprise....it's real and this is achieved without skipping diet or with intake of medicines. Weight loss is achieved with correction in metabolism and with the aid of some external therapies. We advise 11 days of  admission nothing more. 11th day is the day for detox. It's very cost effective. Development of this method was quiet accidental.since myself overweight and was not interested in unhealthy weightloss protocols ,I always skipped on these weight loss protocols due to its advertisements.

I had gone through many opinions regarding weight loss and all are having some sort of medications or protein diets, which will be having negative impact on my body organs, mainly liver and kidneys. This made me to think differently and I was motivated with G M diet which maintains a good body harmony. I opted GM diet and was beniffitted 3.5kgs in 7 days. This made me to think lot more which includes ayurveda concepts and herbs which can be used both us medicines and as foods. Main advantage of this protocol are...no need of exercise...no need of gym...no need of skipping your meals....you can eat delicious food and sleep well. Depending  upon body pattern and drugs ( used for other ailments),on an average you can loss 5-8kg in 10 days

Main advantage of opting this protocol is not lossing weight but to detox your body and correct your metabolism which will make you feel fresher....energetic....and more confident.

My advise is for those people who are having no time for work outs, hectic jobs, those who skip routines, those who needs relaxation from work, overweigh individuals who want to skip surgery for weight loss.

CARING SON......LOVING MOM....

Normally Indians have the opinion that they are the only family concernd human beings. Me too had the same opinion. But this changed when we had Mrs. Helena 73 yrs old from Slovakia. Since she was suffering from radiculopathic lumabar pain after laminectomy and spinal fusion surgery . Her son Mr.juraj liptak took her from Slovakia to Kerala for ayurveda treatment. We had many patients from outside India, but most of them are either couples, brothers, family friends etc.. It's the first patient who was accompanied by her son. she had a good time here at our hospital and was pain free after her treatment sessions.

PSORIASIS FACTS AND COMPLETE AYURVEDIC CURE...

According to ayurvedic theories and concepts PSORIASIS  - one type of  kushta ( Sidhma kushta) where skin is the site of manifestation of a systemic pathology. Ayurveda describes this systemic pathology mainly related with metabolism and the importance of detoxification and purification prior to curative therapies...
Psoriasis can be treated and can be controlled by different systems of medicines (ayurveda,allopathy,homeopathy..) but what really matters is  how to manage a patient without relapse! and with minimum complications.
Here at Kottathil ayurveda  we are giving more importance to systemic detoxification and purification to get complete cure.
When we look into treatment options No other system of medicine other then ayurveda had given the prime importance of cellular level cleansing and systemic therapies to eliminate cellular exudates out of the body.
Ayurveda describes the manifestation of disease mainly due to the vitiated MALAS which invade the channels present everywhere inside the body and is transmitted to different parts of the body through lymph and blood which in due course of time makes the soft tissues flabby and skin with plaques.

If we look into the explanation each and every modern human being will definitely ask questions. Eg( what is the so called channels? Can you show me anatomically where it is? What are MALAS? )
For your  knowledge these are the ayurvedic variables or the hypothetical images made by ancient wisdom during there time period to give explanations to the same intellectual questions during there era..

It's really hard to correlate ....... But at the end ....RESULT matters..... And there , AYURVEDA WINS...

Images shown here are of relapsed cases in which patients had treated for psoriasis and got reccurance after 1-2 years..

We will update with fresh images of Complete cure after our treatment protocol.

CERVICAL DISC BULGE AYURVEDA VS ALLOPATHY

Most common heard word with NECK PAIN - {  ITS A BULGE }

This occur when the soft inner core of the disc in your neck bulges aganist the firm outer layer. This occur commonly in the lower part of the neck, mainly C5-C6,C6-C7 { most of the movements in the neck occur at this point }. This results in neck pain and in many cases the disc bulge pinches the nerves which will lead to arm pain, numbness, tingling, weakness etc

Disc bulge
SYMPTOM
  • Neck pain
  • Cervical RADICULOPATHY ( numbness , tingling, arm pain that can go down the base of neck-shoulders-forearm-hands-finger)
  • Weakness of muscle groups
  • Symptoms of cervical myelopathy.
DIAGNOSIS
  • XRAY
  • MRI
MANAGEMENT
  1. AYURVEDA. -     Non surgical
  2. ALLOPATHY -     Non surgical, Surgical
Non surgical treatment plans are different in both systems
  • AYURVEDA -  Internal medicines ,external applications, rest
  • ALLOPATHY -  Internal medicines , physiotherapy, rest
If pain and symptoms persist for more than 3-4 weeks
  • AYURVEDA   -    Hospitilized external treatments + PANCHAKARMA therapy
  • ALLOPATHY -    Surgery
RESULTS
  • AYURVEDA - 90% improvement in arm pain.arm weakness, numbness etc releaved within 3 months. Grand total 75-80% recovery after getting discharged.
  • ALLOPATHY -  80% improvement in arm pain, arm weakness, numbness etc less predictable, Grand total 50% recovery after surgery.
BACK TO JOB  AYURVEDA  - 6 to 8 weeks for sedentary works, 3 months for heavy lifting.

BACK TO JOB ALLOPATHY  -  2 to 4 weeks for sedentary works, 3 months for heavy lifting.

RISK FACTORS -  smoking, lifting, genetic, driving for long hours.

PREVENTION.

  • Avoid improper lifting, strenuous activity, smoking

CERVICAL ARTHIRITIS AYURVEDA

This is again the continuation of our clinical awareness programs for understanding  more about effective ayurveda treatments in different clinical conditions.

As most of you know ARTHIRITIS deals with degenerative conditions and today we are discussing about CERVICAL  ARTHRITIS . This is age-related degeneration of the neck mainly characterised by disc degeneration and facet arthritis. This condition can result in cervical stenosis and will result in spinal canal narrowing. If this happen you will be experiencing CERVICAL MYELOPATHY, CERVICAL RADICULOPATHY like conditions along with neck pain.

Normally arthritic and degenerative conditions are more common in females but in cervical arthritis, it's the male counterpart who are more affected.

SYMPTOMS
  • Neck pain, numbness,weakness
  • Flare ups of the above symptoms periodically
  • Cervical myelopathy symptoms
DIAGNOSIS
  • XRAY
  • MRI
TREATMENT

                                                        AYURVEDA

Non surgical management, medications are non steroidal and regenerative, physical body treatments with oils and other liquids to remove inflammation, soft tissue nutrition and strengthening, physiotherapy incoprated, marma therapy, Specific joint and spine holding soft tissue therapies to remove stiffness and increase range of movements. Cost effective

                                                        ALLOPATHY

Management  starts with medications like NSAID, muscle relaxants, steroids (epidural, nerve root block- results are for 3-6 months), physiotherapy and finally ends in surgery. No Specific therapies for joint/ spine holding soft tissues . Only rich can afford.

                                                         RESULTS

  •  Ayurveda 90-95% and Allopathy 80-90% of pain relief,
  • Associated symptoms will be releaved within 75-90 days in ayurveda and gradually in allopathy
  • Range of movement 90% recovery after treatment in ayurveda. In Allopathy physiotherapy adviced before and after surgery.
  • Natural bone mineral density increasing medications in ayurveda, calcium and multivitamin in allopathy.

CERVICAL AND THORASIC MYELOPATHY AYURVEDA

This is again from our clinical experience, why I am writing is for awareness and efficacy of ayurveda treatments when it's done in clinically described manner.

We had many patients presented with cervical myelopathy and had done immediate surgery , come back again with rather the same symptoms.

Let's look at the outcome of both system of medical management.

Cervical myelopathy occur when there is pressure on the spinal cord in the neck or thoracic spine resulting in numbness/ weakness in the hands with associated symptoms of difficulty in balance and gait. Myelopathy typically results in a step wise deterioration.

Major symptoms
  • Clumsiness of hands,
  • Dropping objects
  • Neck pain
  • Tingling,numbness,arm aches
  • Walking and balance
  • Trouble in fine motor movements like buttoning buttons
Major cause
  • Arthritis of neck/back
  • Narrow spinal cord
                                                       Choice of treatment

  • Ayurveda
Non surgical, Regenrative medications and are non steroidal, major medications are
plant origin, external treatment procedures to reduce soft tissue inflammation, stiffness, muscle strengthening treatments, 80% reduction in pain, associated symptoms will be releaved within 3 months.

  • Allopathy
Always ends in surgical procedures, NSAIDS,steroids, muscle relaxants, in severe cases narcotics, always advice physiotherapy prior to surgery, 80% reduction in symptoms after surgery, associated symptoms will be releaved gradually.
Any type of spinal surgery will have its own risk of damaging spinal cord

It's your option to choose, Results are almost same , then why you opt for surgery if it's not necessary?

UNDERSTANDING PAIN IN MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDERS

PAIN

Each and every person in his or her life will be experiencing some sort of musculoskeletal disorders( joint, bone, muscle, tendon, ligament). This is common and a normal case in an active persons daily life. One and only important factor is the correct time to get an appointment with your health care provider.
Why I am writing this post is specific - there are many pain killers( both external and internal) easily avilable in market, common man dosent know the good and bad effects. Since new generation marketing trends are diverse, it's very easy to get a personal experience with little knowledge.

Let's discuss the pattern of PAIN you experience in a musculoskeletal injury.

Main cause of injury can be due to muscle injury, bone, nerve, vascular.  There will be associated symptoms sometimes due to inflammatory , degenerative, infection, neoplastic.

We will give you a rough idea to differentiate the type of pain you experience and whether it should be medically attended or not.

  • MUSCULAR PAIN -  this will be  dull, achy type, poorly localised, can refer to other area      Whenever muscle pain not alleviated within 12-24 hrs of injury, you should consult your health care provider.
  • BONE PAIN -         This will be deep and  well localised. It's always to consult a doctor if you experience this pattern of pain, if the pain was associated with any trauma , an immediate evaluation is needed.
  •  NERVE PAIN -      This will be burning ,sharp, pain in nerve distributed areas. If pain was not associated with trauma take rest for 12-24 hrs,if not alleviated consult your health care provider.
  • VASCULAR -      This will be same as that of  muscular pain, but can be diffuse dull ache with poor localisation. If not associated with trauma take rest for 12-24 hrs and not alleviated consult your health care provider.
There will be associated symptoms like weakness, numbness, tingling, elevated temperature in the limb, joint immobility, locking, clicking, swelling etc..

This is a rough idea of PAIN, one of the major symptom, there are many other factors

along with pain. Why I am giving more importance is the 12-24 hr time period, this is the time of

OTC ( over the counter medicines). In most of the cases these medicines will benefit but the major

problem is the continuous use without knowing the type of injury.

HOW TO CHOOSE AYURVEDA TREATMENT

HOSPITAL   VS    RESORT

  1. DIFFERENCE
HOSPITAL -  24hrs fully dedicated ayurveda  specialist doctors, nurses, therapist, pharmacist. Individual specialist doctors and specific treatment protocols as mentioned in classics.

RESORT.    -  A well build hotel with ayurveda doctor as the manager, hospitality at its best.

     2.  WHAT TO LOOK FOR

HOSPITAL -  It should be registered, should have specialist doctors to handle emergency, qualified therapist, nurses, pharmacist.

RESORT    -    It should be registered with tourism department ,  well maintained, safe, recommended by experts, charges should be specific.

     3.   PURPOSE OF VISIT

HOSPITAL -  It should be clinical ( specifically for disease conditions)

RESORT     -     It can be for relaxation, holidays, parties etc..

     4.  HOW TO CONTACT

HOSPITAL -  In person with patient is most preferred, for appointments -websites, phone call.
RESORT   -  Always pre-book, there will be changes in charges depending upon season. Web sites, tour operators.

     5.   ALWAYS LOOK FOR TESTIMONIALS

HOSPITAL - specific case studies/ recovery/ videos of patients.

RESORTS. -  should be genuine (look for language of writer). Pics and videos should be original.

TRUE STORY OF RECOVERY WITHOUT SURGERY

Hear from one of our patients diagnosed IVDP (lumbar) from a famous hospital in Banglore and was posted for immediate surgery on 2010. During the time of admission at our hospital he was on wheel chair and it take four healthy persons to make him stand. After our preliminary physical examination and medical images we suspected something more than IVDP which was again supported with his EMG reports. Since he was very young and was recently married its hard to comment on his future. But truly speaking we doctors at Kottathil are proud to say our Ayurveda along with his courage and faith made him stand...walk...run... and now its the third year 2013. It take three years of continoues  documentation, monitoring and interactions with the patient  for us to post this video as a sucess story which is medically relavant. He is a bank employee in middle east and is happy with his wife with no health problems. You can hear form his mouth

BODY TREATMENTS- SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATIONS

What comes to our mind  When we hear  the word Ayurveda . Treatments with oil, massage, dara etc. Then comes the next question. Are these procedures scientific?

Here am discussing some facts about Ayurvedic external treatments and its action on human body, i think after going through this topic some of you will get an idea of what impact these procedures can do.

SWEDANAM ( THERAPEUTIC HEATING)

  1.  Conduction heat- Heating modalities which are in contact with the skin .In ayurveda different types of heat modalities are used raining from choorna pinda swedam (dry heat) to shashtika pinda swedam . In the above mentioned procedures different types of medicinal plants, leaves etc are powdered made into bolus, packs etc and the procedures are done by expert personals with at-most care, preventing the skin temperature rising above 45 degree C.
Therapeutic effects are only achieved if tissue is heated to 40-45 degree C for at least 5mts. Effects of heating include circulatory changes, pain reduction, alteration of collagen extensibility and reduction in muscle spasm. For every one degree rise in tissue temperature there is 13% increase in metabolic rate, if temperature is too low ,tissue damage may again result as body fluids are frozen. For deep tissues therapeutic temperatures ranging from 5-6 degree above or below are recommended .  Joint stiffness is shown to reduce with deep heating, it reduces viscosity of joint fluid, but superficial heating will not affect .

     2.     Radiation heat- use of heat with out direct contact over skin surface.

ABHYANGAM (MASSAGE)

In this procedure massage, mobilization and manipulation are incorporated with at most care. Massage techniques ranging from Effleurage to Tapotment are integrated with ayurvedic marma points and hand movements, which are done with medicinal oils and other medicinal liquids. Effects are mechanical, Physiological and Psychological. These procedures  will improve venous and lymphatic drainage, fresh blood will enter the area . Passive movements to increase joints range of motion.

This is a  brief discussion regarding the two main procedures used in ayurveda for external  treatments. Normally in every case  SWEDANAM+ABHYANGAM are performed. This approach will give maximum results than individual methods. Ayurveda uses this approach in almost all musculoslkeletal conditions.

GERIATRIC MEDICINE- AYURVEDIC APPROACH

In view of the rapidly rising population of old people in india and worldwide, the need of geriatric medicine is of added importance. This is an age when degenerative diseases become common and complications and sequelae of chronic long term diseases such as hypertension and diabetes make their presence. These factors commonly result in multiple pathology.

During this period body reserves adversely affect absorption, detoxification and excretion of many drugs and medicnes, leading to an increased incidence of toxic side effects and hypersensitivity reactions. Some of the symptoms that old persons maybe complaining of, may actually be due to side effects of drug administered. In younger patients there will be single pathology, on the other hand in geriatric cases there will be multiple pathology and complicating factors.

In elderly patients, disturbance of function in one system is more likely than patients to adversely affect the function of other organs, mainly heart and the brain.(eg: a heart already affected by years of hypertension but functioning normally may go into congestive heart failure, if diabetes uncontrolled and remains undetected and untreated.)

Ayurvedic approach in geriatric care is of great significance, ayurveda always consider disease conditions us multiple pathologies, which includes both physical and mental. Almost all the preparations mentioned and used are combinations of different herbs which are having multiple actions, thus treating a major disease and caring multiple pathologies.

In ayurveda there are multiple pharmacological formulations suiting different age groups. one of the important advantages of ayurveda is its approach to digestive fire( AGNI) and almost all medications  improve your digestion, absorption ,elimination. most of the geriatric conditions  can be corrected by maintaining AGNI, ayurveda will do wonders in managing chronic geriatric disorders.

Ayurveda emphasis on external body treatments using oil and other liquids, the so called preparations for extenal body treatments are very good for musculoskeletal disoders affecting old age. As we all know aeging causes reduction in muscle bulk, loss of moisture , tissue damage, skin changes, lethargy, circulatory defects etc .

Here are some of the cases in which ayurveda had proven its benifits
Osteoarthiritis, parkinsons diseae, depression,CVA, dementia, hypertension, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, piles, enlarged prostate, chronic urinary tract infections, diabetes, hearing loss, glucoma etc.

NASAL POLYP- NON SURGICAL CURE

This is again an effective treatment using ancient wisdom- Ayurveda. Lets go into the basics of the condition and its ayurvedic management. In this era most of the patients/people are aware of their disease conditions. Here we are giving a brief idea of the condition with its presentation, complication and treatment options.

Nasal polyps can be defined as mucosal overgrowths that frequently accompany with allergic rhinitis, asthma, recurring infections, drug sensitivity, inflammation, cystic fibrosis, immune disorders .

Major symptoms  include: running nose, postnasal drip, recurrent cold, reduced smell and taste, facial pain, snoring, itching around eyes, difficulty in breathing etc..

If not managed properly it can lead to asthma, sleep apnea,  sinus infections, meningitis, aneurysm /clots.

According to ayurvedic  perspective the condition can be correlated to Nasarsas, most of the symptoms and explanation along with treatments are given in this context.

According to ayurvedic perspective treatments mentioned are differentiated according to the stage of progression, starting from running nose to its complications. Different treatment regims starting with nasal medication to snehapana is mentioned. Difference in opinion regarding the stages of progression along with doshic classifications are mentioned.

From our experience there are specific medicines and medicinal  preparations which have very good results in curing the condition in almost single session. Here we are mentioning the importance of a particular medicinal preparation  KSHARA

As mentioned in classics Nasya(nasal medication) is of prime importance in controlling this condition and its reccurance. Since most of the cases come with complications and associated symptoms, internal medicines are needed according to the presenting complaints.

For removing the mechanical blockage KSHARA is the important medicine and the procedure called KSHARA KARMA. Medicines used for KSHARA preparation are from classics and almost all ayurveda doctors are well aware. Normally in minor mechanical blockages one session is needed. In chronic cases with severe blockages 2-3 sessions are needed. Results are quick and the person can feel the difference within few hours.

From our experience this is an effective low cost management of NASAL POLYP without surgery. The advantages of this procedure are more if we compare it with surgery. You will be getting the same results of surgery . If we integrate panchakarma procedures as mentioned in classics, the recurrence rates are almost nil.
